Hi Everyone!
In a few short days the first day of spring will officially arrive! I wanted to start a blog so that I can begin to update you on the path leading up to summer and to give you updates throughout! Also, everyone who knows me well knows that I am quite the “silly lady”. Although I do very much love writing letters and sending people mail, by keeping this blog I will be able to share more of my personality with what I write!
First, the end of my sophomore year of college is quickly approaching! I have had an incredible year this year building new Christ centered relationships and growing in my faith in ways I could have never imagined. God opened up a limitless amount of doors this year; pursuing me and leading me, both of which eventually helped lead to me finding my identity in Him. My word of the year is JOY: living for Jesus first, others second, and myself last. I chose this word because I knew that I am a happy person, but to be filled with a constant flowing river of joy was a challenge set before me. I am filled with confidence knowing that wherever I am called to serve, that God will use me in glorious ways. This year alone, God has used retreats, Bible study, campus events, leadership opportunities, and meeting many new friends to help me grow in my relationship with Jesus.
Secondly, there are only about two months left until my brothers and sisters in Christ and myself set out for ten weeks in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! This summer project focuses on reaching out to recently graduated high school seniors and college students who travel to North Myrtle Beach during the summer. Our goal is to engage in spiritual conversations by sharing the gospel with these students in a variety of settings including sharing on the beach, our daily work atmosphere, and other group project outreaches. During this summer project I will be working, evangelizing on the beach, attending weekly meetings and Bible studies, and having a staff member of the project as my disciple. It has been a desire of mine to grow closer to God and to allow him to lead me on a path to where I need to serve for him and his kingdom.
Please check back frequently for news and updates!
In Christ,
Jenna
"I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full."
